Turtagrø Hotel

Campers weekend 10th – 13th May

Hello to all those guests in and around Turtagrø! Due to overcrowding during some weekends in April/May we have had to introduce a few ground rules in order to keep operations flowing smoothing. These following rules are designed for specifically the weekend of 10th– 13thMay.

For guests staying in The Swiss Chalet and in the Main Building
You will receive a Turtagrø wristband on checking-in and a parking ticket which you will need to put in the window of your car.

Campers
Parking: Campers must park in the big round car-park on the other side of the road from the hotel
Camping grounds: On the other side of the road from the Hotel (please ask the reception for more details)
WC: Please use the festival toilets situated on the other side of the road from the hotel.
Showers/drying rooms: Showers and drying-rooms are unfortunately not available to campers this weekend. Campers will also not be able to use the 1stfloor living-room in the hotel this weekend.
We will however set up a bar in our downstairs living-room from 1600-0030 every eveningwhere everyone will be welcome. Here you will be able to buy beer, wine and some simple warm food.
Film showingswill take place every evening in our cinema room Hulen.
Dinner in the restaurant: Dinner for campers will be available from 2115. Please book in the reception beforehand.

Why has Turtagrø introduced these ground rules?
The weekends during April and May is the busiest time of the whole season here at Turtagrø.  A lot of people want to come to Hurrungane in order to go skiing and it is lovely to see that so many people want to explore the area around Turtagrø!

At Turtagrø Hotel itself we have a total of 114 beds, as well as drying-rooms, toilets, showers and common areas. These facilities are all designed to accommodate for a maximum of 114 guests. This includes the water and sewage system at the hotel. In finding that we are full at the hotel, many of those who wish to stay at Turtagrø during these weekends will chose to come and camp instead. When this happens, and the number of campers in the area explodes, the toilets, showers and common areas are insufficient as they not designed to deal with such an influx. In 2014, we tried to deal with problem by installing an extra toilet in the Swiss Chalet, as well as a larger drying room, however this was to little avail and the problems associated with this overcrowding continued. In order to deal with the problem and to cater for both hotel guests and campers alike, we have had to create these ground rules.
